This policy describes how C-METRIC Engineering and Telecommunications («C-METRIC», «we») processes personal data on the website c-metric.pt, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese law.

2. Data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:
- Identification and contact data: name, email address and message content when you use the contact form or send us email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and date/time of access, when recorded by the server or analytics tools (if enabled).
- Approximate location data: only if you load the embedded map (OpenStreetMap) on the contact page.
We do not request special categories of data through this website. Please do not include unnecessary information in your messages.

4. Contact form and email
The contact form opens your email client (mailto) with the details you entered. The message is sent from your device; we do not automatically store its content on the website server. Emails received at info@c-metric.pt are processed to respond to your request and, where applicable, for commercial management.
5. Retention periods
- Contact requests without a contractual relationship: up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a different legal obligation applies.
- Client and project data: for the duration of the relationship and statutory archiving periods (e.g. tax and commercial law).
- Server technical logs: typically up to 12 months, depending on hosting configuration.
6. Recipients and transfers
Data may be processed by service providers that support us (e.g. web hosting, email, IT), only as necessary and under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations. If any provider is outside the European Economic Area, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses), where applicable.
7. Cookies and third-party content
The website uses browser localStorage only to remember your selected language (cmetric-lang). We do not use our own advertising or profiling cookies in this version of the site.
The contact page may embed an OpenStreetMap map served by third parties, which may collect technical data under their policy. Loading the map may involve cookies or similar technologies from that provider.
Typography (Google Fonts) is loaded from Google servers; see Google's privacy policy.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may request:
- Access to your personal data;
- Rectification of inaccurate data;
- Erasure («right to be forgotten»), where applicable;
- Restriction of or objection to processing, in certain circumstances;
- Data portability, where processing is based on consent or contract and is automated;
- Withdrawal of consent, where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.

We may update this policy to reflect legal or website changes. The date at the top indicates the current version. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
